Yes, if you have taken admission to B.Tech just after the 12th class but if you appear for the same then you have to do the B.Tech 1st year again that will result in 2 year gap.

Hello Ayush, Diploma students who have completed their degree, or are in the final year of doing so, are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2018, but will not be given admission to NITs and CFTIs.
