For the majority of undergraduate and graduate programs at the University of Malaya (UM), a score of 5.5 on the IELTS may not be sufficient to achieve the minimal English language proficiency criterion for admission. International students who are seeking admission at the University of Malaya are required to show their English Language Proficiency by qualifying exams such as IELTS. Students with a 5.5 IELTS score can join the University of Malaya for MEng courses only. Other courses offered at the University of Malaya such as MBA, MS or MIM required a minimum IELTS score of 6. Please note that the IELTS requirement may vary as per the choice of course. Students are advised to look carefully at the eligibility criteria of their desired course.

Yes, students can study at the AUD Dubai without IELTS. However, students would need to prove English proficiency in a different way. This can be done by either submitting scores for other tests like TOEFL, EmSAT, or English Placement Tests. Waivers may be given based on how well students have done in their past studies, especially the English exam.

No, the main rules are the same. The official bodies like IDP and British Council have not announced any big changes to the IELTS exam format. Stick to your normal study plan for now.
