Is a student pursuing B.Tech after polytechnic equivalent to a student pursuing the same from the first year?

diploma in engineering is of 3 years called polytechnic which is equivalent to the 1 st year of BTech engineering....

But will a student who does not have to appear in JEE has a advantage so will they be equivalent to a student doing B.Tech by giving Entrance exam during jobs

A student who has completed 3 year recognised polytechnic diploma from a polytechnic college can seek lateral entry admissions after clearing lateral entry admission test conducted by the state, to a B Tech programme without attending classes or appearing for all examinations for first year of a B T

I understood what you said but we can say that polytechnic is a shortcut of B.Tech as they will not have to sit in a entrance exam insted the will have to appear in a much small entrance exam
