Is Alagappa University autonomous or not?

  • Alagappa University is autonomous. It has the Category-1 autonomous status from India’s statutory body, MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development). The university received it in 2018. A Category-1 autonomous status means that a university can create its own courses or curricula across all levels, starting from undergraduate to PhD programmes.  Currently, its Centre for Online and Distance Education (CDOE) offers online degree programmes across various disciplines, including English, Commerce, and business studies.
