Dear Umang, Amity University is doing quite well in management studies, but it certainly isn't the best, there are a lot of better players, LPU is one of the top one. The MBA programme at LPU is a great mix of cutting edge curriculum, experiential learning pedagogy, industry interface, projects, internships and consultancies, technologies trainings and many more. The sheer size of campus and number of students provides a plethora of opportunities to students to explore their entrepreneurial skills. The multicultural intake ensures that students learn and understand cultural sensibilities which become an asset in corporate life. The most striking point however is the center for professional enhancement, the students are exposed to new ideas about personality development, professional etiquette, virtues, ethics, interpersonal and networking skills for almost full duration of the programme rather than just a few weeks of placement trainings. This inculcates these qualities in the students in much better way and go a long way into shaping the career apart from cracking the interviews. Coming to reputation, since you asked, NIRF a government agency has ranked Mittal School of business among top 50 B-schools in the country twice in a row, in some of the parameters it has even beaten most Iims and ranked no. 2 in the country ! More importantly, more than 200 companies visit the campus for recruitment of management grads only ! Which is a huge number and a big achievement. More than 97% of eligible graduates get their dream placements. It is not like any other university, you can SEE it from the first step of selection, even Iims have basic eligibility of 50% in graduation, while LPU has raised the bar to 55%. My first cousin did MBA from LPU. Initially she had a confusion whether she should join LPU or not because she had qualified CAT that too with good percentile. She could easily get seat in any good elite B-school, but she choose LPU after talking to her senior who had completed MBA from LPU and placed in a top ranking MNC and that too on a lucrative package. She was worried about reviews but then Her senior told her that If you ask someone who was not eligible for in campus placements will say that placements or college is not good and person will find faults in everything. He suggested her not to invest so much (1520 lacs) On MBA when majority of people are getting 57 Lacs as compensatory package. He suggested that LPU is worth Joining as it pays better returning in terms of education and jobs. She told few points and I hope those will help you to make the decision: Faculty: Most of faculty members are from IIM or from elite B- Schools (India/Abroad. They have decade of experience. Faculty was really helping. Even they helped her after regular university hours for her projects. Standard of students: They did not compromise on the quality of the students. They have a rigorous admission process. Admission can be taken if you have good percentage and you have good percentile in entrance + marks in interview. Courses offered: They have ample of specializations in MBA and also provides dual specializations. Batch size: In every section they had 4060 Students. Placements: University provides with opportunities and it's up to the students to grab it. My cousin got placed in the very first drive of placements that too on package of 15.20LPA. All I can say is LPU brings in lot more companies (apx. 450+) and the average package revolves around 5 to 6 Lacs per annum. Its up to you how you prepare yourself for the placements and stand out from the herd. LPU provide different classes for placements which helps in grooming. Students are trained in Aptitude, Reasoning, free preparation for government Exams, Soft Skills and language training, Interview skills right from the 1st year, continuously for 2/3/4 ( duration of course) years till they get job. Ranking: School is ranked No. 2 in India in Outreach and Inclusivity and 38 overall in the prestigious NIRF ranking released by The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. Placements: 200+ Campus placement drives with a reputed brand with an average package of 6-12 LPA. Students are placed in the best brands like Amazon, Federal bank, Delivery, Asian Paints, Berger Paint, Bajaj Electrical, Colgate Palmolive, HUL, ITC, Loreal, Marico, MRF, Vodafone to name a few. Companies like Hyatt, Ritz Carlton, Adani Wilmar, Altruist, Al-Rakha, Dharam Consultancy selected LPU students for International locations. The highest package availed is 16.6 LPA by Khimji Ramdas.
