    An international law degree from countries like the US, UK, or Australia may be recognised in India, but the extent of recognition and applicability may depend on various factors such as the degree programme, the institution, and the field of law. In India, to practice law, one needs to have a law degree from a recognised university and must also pass the Bar Council of India (BCI) examination. As per the BCI rules, foreign law graduates may be eligible to practice law in India, subject to certain conditions such as completing an additional one-year course in Indian law from a recognised institution, and clearing the BCI examination.
