No, an MA in Linguistics and an MA in English Literature are two different courses. In MA English Literature students study Literature written by noteworthy writers whereas Linguistics is considered to be the Science of language. In Linguistics students study the Science of language, words, phrases and sentences. In terms of employment prospects, an MA in English Literature has a wider scope of opportunities.
