Its a good question. The answer to this depends on what you want to do with your life. Having studied at a top B school myself in India - I can give the Indian side to it -
1. Getting into Indian top 5 B-schools is much, much tougher than US top 5 B schools - GMAT as an exam is seriously too easy a

to be frank there is no bad and good in the world. however it is our way of looking or thinking which does a matter.
second thing, a lot of indians gain / have gained degrees in india and working aborad. same thing in another way, a lot indians take/ have taken degrees abroad and work
