Is an online M.Tech degree as valuable as an offline one?

<p>The first thing to understand here is that <strong>online and distance M.Tech courses are considered invalid in India as per the recent AICTE and UGC guidelines</strong>. This is because engineering is a field that needs practical training and lab work along with theory classes, which is not possible in the virtual mode. So, recruiters also give more importance to students with regular, offline &lt;a href="https://www.shiksha.com/m-e-m-tech-chp"&gt;M.Tech&lt;/a&gt; degrees.</p><p>Having said that, <strong>there is an option of AICTE accredited online M.Tech for Working Professionals</strong> offered by a few popular colleges like BITS Pilani and IIT Hyderabad that is meant for people to enhance their technical skills and learn more besides their regular jobs. Employers do accept this option and often allow their employees to go ahead with it. But, as a student, you must go for a regular M.Tech course if you wish to excel in your career.</p>
