    Andhra University was established in 1926 and is a public (government) university. It was the first university in India to be approved as a residential, teaching-cum-affiliating university. Numerous undergraduate and graduate programmes in the domains of science, engineering, the arts, business, pharmacy, law, and education are available at Andhra University. Located at Kakinada (East Godavari District), etc.herla, Tadepalli Gudem, Vizianagram, and Vishakhapatnam, the university is affiliated with five colleges.     In Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, there is a government-owned university called Andhra University. The Madras Legislative Act of 1926 saw its establishment, making it one of India's the oldest and most esteemed universities.     Andhra University is a public university in the state of Andhra Pradesh which operates under the supervision of the Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education. The university was established in 1926 and is about to complete its 100 years very soon.

    Andhra University has been accredited NAAC “A” grade by the University Grant Commission (UGC). In addition to this, the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) which ranks universities and colleges all over India based on several parameters has ranked Andhra University 76 in the overall category and 43 in the university category.
