Annamalai University Chennai is ranked 26 by NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) 2023 for Pharmacy. Annamalai University Chidambaram also provides distance education to various undergraduate and postgraduate students through the Directorate of Distance Education. Annamalai University Chennai is a puclic/government university therefore the fee is not very high. Even if the students find the fee a little high, they can apply for the scholarships provided by the university.

Annamalai University (AU) is credited with being the first private university of India and has now been accorded the status of a State Government University. It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and has been ranked in the band of 101-150 (University category) by NIRF in 2022. Presently, Annamalai University has 45+ affiliated institutes and it offers UG, PG, PG Diploma Certificate and Ph.D. programmes under various faculty members, including Arts, Science, Indian Languages, Education, Agriculture, and Medicine, among others.
