Assam Engineering College is the first engineering college in the north-east India and was established in the year 1955. Courses include Bachelor of Engineering in eight different engineering disciplines, Master of Engineering in civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering, and Master of Computer Application. The college offers Ph.D. programs in all departments. All the courses of AEC are affiliated to Gauhati University.
