Is B J Medical College Ahmedabad Tier 1 or Tier 2?

<p>Ahmedabad Medical School and the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital merged after the latter's establishment in 1871. At first, the school only had 14 students enrolled in its medical assistant program. Following his donation of Rs. 20,000 in 1879, Sir Byramjee Jeejeebhoy renamed the school B. J. Medical School dedicated to him. As the school grew, it became a member of the Bombay College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1917. It was elevated to a higher status and joined Bombay University in 1946, when it changed its name to B.J. Medical College and conferring L.C.P.S. degrees. In 1951, Gujarat University became a partner institution for the college's undergraduate programs. The postgraduate courses were affiliated with Gujarat University in 1956. Gujarat University took over the institution and is now thriving with other related medical and&nbsp; which today flourishes with other allied medical and paramedical institutions, including:</p><ul><li>M &amp; J Institute of Ophthalmology</li><li>The Gujarat Cancer &amp; Research Institute</li><li>TB Demonstration and Training Centre</li><li>U. N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology</li></ul><p>The College has an All India Rank of 13 and is a Tier 1 college in India.</p>
