Is B.Sc. Agriculture course of LPU ICAR approved at present?

LPU is the first private university to be accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Under the Ministry of Agriculture, ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) coordinates agricultural education and research throughout the country (government. of India). The National Agricultural Education Board of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research has given LPU School of Agriculture accreditation, making it the country's first and only private university to do so. This accreditation was granted to LPU last year (2018). The ICAR has accredited all undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It includes B.Sc (Hons. ) Agriculture, M.Sc Ag. (Genetics & Plant Breeding), M.Sc Ag. (Agronomy), and M.Sc Ag. (Genetics & Plant Breeding) degrees. The National Agricultural Education Board of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, an autonomous agency responsible for organising agricultural education and research in India, has recognised ICAR's Horticulture (Fruit Science) programmes.

The school of Agriculture was approved for accreditation for a period of five years with a GPAC of 3.42 (ii) The following degree programs were approved for accreditation for a period of five years B.Sc. LPU School of Agriculture has been granted accreditation by the National Agricultural Education Board of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, making it the first and only private University in the country to receive the accreditation. LPU got this accreditation last year (2018). All the courses that run at undergraduate and post graduate level are all accredited by ICAR. It counts B.Sc (Hons. ) Agriculture, M.Sc Ag. (Genetics & Plant Breeding), M.Sc Ag. (Agronomy) and M.Sc Ag. In addition to the regular course work, especially designed practical courses like Hands on training, Practical crop production, Rural and Agriculture Work Experience (RAWE), Nursery raising for horticulture crops, Crop And SEED Identification Laboratory, Soil And Water Sampling And Analysis, Soil Description And Interpretation Discipline Highlights: Agriculture laboratory, Organic And Chemical Fertilizer, Manure Identification And Application Laboratory, Introductory Nematology, Disease Of Horticultural Crops And Their Management, Practical Floriculture And Vegetable Crop Production Laboratory, Bio-Safety Rules And Intellectual Property Rights are offered to promote practical implication of various courses which train students for industry. Students are exposed to Commercial farms (100 acres) to know-how that create an opportunity for students to engage and tone up their endurance, confidence and management skills. They were also engaged in complete cultivation practice of seasonal crops for 6 months, wherein land preparation till harvesting and marketing of the final products will be done by student to expose farming experience. LPU's School of Agriculture was till recently first and only private institution which has been accredited by ICAR to run the agriculture courses in Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral level. The best part of LPU curriculum is that it is industry ready, being developed in consultations and feedback from industry itself, it is the ideal course for those aspiring good careers in agriculture. The most striking feature is the faculty and focus on the allied skills. Many technologies MOOCs etc. Are a part of the curriculum to ensure that employability of student improves and thet are able to get into dream careers. Just last year, M.Sc. Agronomy student Kavita Faman was placed in Monsanto foods at annual package of INR 1 crore. So, yes LPU is ICAR accredited, has solid track record and fabulous placements.
