    I think it's a very good choice, it's scope is higher nowadays plus it's leads you to Ph.D. even if you have passion you could join colleges as a lecturer.

    Yes, those who have completed Ph.D and/or Post-Doctoral studies after getting scholarships through GRE or TOEFL may find microbiology jobs at foreign universities or Research and Development (R&D) wings of major pharmaceutical companies.
