A backdated degree is not legally valid if it is not issued in accordance with the rules and regulations of recognised educational institutions or governing bodies. In India, degrees must be awarded by universities approved by the UGC (University Grants Commission) or other recognised authorities.

A current degree from an accredited university is a requirement if you plan to take tests like the UPSC. If you submit an invalid or backdated degree, you may be disqualified from the test and face legal repercussions. Always make sure your credentials are authentic and substantiated.

The backdated degree is an illegitimate degree certificate received through a malpractice-performed by candidates for procurement of jobs. Backdate degree is altering the date on the degree certificate or creating degree certificate for candidates who are not eligible for the job. Backdating degree is illegal and there are cases where companies blacklisted employees for using this method.
