Is BCA necessary for pursuing MCA?

Dear, So far my knowledge goes for doing MCA, BCA is not the only path. You can do MCA after doing B.Sc.in maths/ physics/ computer science. For admission in MCA in your targetted university, you have to check their eligibility criteria. Best wishes!

Hello Gopi, Yes, it is. BCA (Bachelor of computer applications) is an undergraduate course whereas MCA (Master of computer applications) is a post graduate course. So you cannot do a Master's degree directly without doing a UG degree.

You can do MCA after B.Sc computer science also. So if you don't get admission for BCA you may do B.Sc computer science and then do MCA. B.Sc in CS is also a good course that may fetch you jobs.
