Is BITS tag better than that of an IIT tag?

Both the college have good tags around them. You can choose either of them depending upon parameters like branch offered to you, your area of interest, co-curricular activities, placement stats, location etc. Fees in IIT is low as compared to BITS. So you can choose wisely among them depending upon your parameters.

Hi Yogya, Both the tags are very good and have an equivalent value in abroad. However, in India, IIT Tag is a bit ahead of BITS Tag. All the best

When I first read your question, I immediately felt that there will be some answer which will be criticising IIT because of the reservation policy. So, I wiill restrict my answer only to "Personalities of fellow students" I come from one of the dominant caste in Andhra Pradesh and before IIT I did had a caste superiority feeling.But the experiences in IIT had changed me a lot. First and foremost, contrary to what people say just becuase a student is from a reservation quota he will not be of inferior intellectual quality. Intelligence is more than proficiency in Maths and science. In my IIT life I had some of the most stimulating and personality changing discussions with my SC and ST friends.I had chance of interacting with a genius who had their education in small towns and cleared JEE without coaching in their first attempt. I came to know why I sometimes find picture of Ambedkar in some rural houses, from a guy whose family once was in scavenging profession. I came to know the about the pain of exclusion, when one of my senior who hugged my friend slightly backed off when he came to know about his caste. I came to know about shame, when a guy got angry and sad when I looked at his caste certificate(FYI I already know he was selected in category) I came to know about how different a life is in a tribal village from my ST friend. I also came to know about how difficult learning is for a first generation learner. All these experiences may not have been possible in the absence of a reservation policy. So, I am going to say that thediversity of your experiences would be far greater in IIT. P.S: All these experiences have helped me a lot in knowing and understanding my country, my society and made me a better person today.
