Yes its true, 3 years BMS is same as BBAfollowed by MMS which is same as MBA. But the name reflect it as "Master of Management Studies" for MMS and "Master of Business Administration" for MBA.
MBA is universally known term for management studies, so name makes a slight confusion among student,
In Mumbai university there are Pg Degrees like MMM,(Master of Marketing Management) MHRM (Masters of Human resources management) etc all are Mba equivalent degrees.

well as said by Pooja Kohli is true. both the courses are same, in fact mostly in the west you will find the colleges offering BMS where as in Nothern India it is BBA. other than the two you will also find BBM as another course similar to the other two. -
