Chandigarh University is approved by the UGC as well as by the AICTE. It has been accredited with the prestigious A+ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Other memberships and approvals include the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), BCI, PCI, COA, NCTE, AIU, CSI, etc. The university was established in the year 2012 by an act of the Punjab State Legislature. Moreover, the university has industrial collaborations with IBM, TCS, SBI, Virtusa, SHRM and academic collaborations with the State University of NY-Albany, and others. Also, CU has been ranked by NIRF 2023 Rankings under various categories
