Dear Divya, Yes,chemical engineering is the most sorted field of study at Lovely Professional University- LPU .It provides analytical and application oriented teaching, innovative and world class pedagogy, nurture professionals who, with their commitment and integrity, can make a difference in their respective profession and in turn transform the society. Every year almost 90% of students in the department get placed in various pharmaceutical, chemical and other companies. A group of experienced faculty members are preparing the students for various competitive exams such as UGC/NET, GATE, etc. They are organizing special coaching classes free of cost for the students of Msc Programs. Seminars & Mock campus interviews To enhance the employability, various guest lecturers of eminent career consultants, academicians and well known carrier consultants are arranged. Mock campus Interviews are also conducted time to time by our industry & academic experts so as to meet the need of the recruiters. Employability Enhancement Program Classes Special classes to improve the employment skills are conducted for the students which enhanced the number of placements. Research Activities Department has a big team of doctoral faculty who are working in different thrust areas of research. To promote the research activities department organize various activities like conferences, project Expo in which students exhibit their research projects to the experts from Industry and academia. Recently department has promoted interdisciplinary research and a good number of research proposals have been submitted to different funding agencies like DST and CSIR. Various activities beyond the syllabus are organized to enrich the experience of the students which include field visit, educational tours, interaction with prominent people related to subject area, guest lectures and participation in various conferences and workshops. Under Graduate laboratories The labs are equipped with distillation assembly, heating mantle, hot plate, thermostatic water bath, hot air oven, aspirator pump, pH meter, conductivity meter, colorimeter, Digital weighing balance, muffle furnace, flash point determination apparatus, Red wood viscometer, Pensky Marten apparatus etc. Events and Activities Curricular and Co-Curricular Activities: Department organizes various events and students participate in various curricular and co-curricular cultural activities. Chemical engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the engineering and development of chemicals/processes to identify and/or solve technical glitches. Chemical engineering is not available in LPU. There are many other trades which may suite to your interest as Biotechnology, nano technology, food technology etc. Companies keep on visiting throughout the semester for all branches. LPU has very good system and policies of placement. Every student get a chance to sit in placement activities. Suppose a company 1 visit - all the students will be allowed to sit for placement, now let afterwards 2nd company visit only those students gets chance to sit in placement of second company if are not selected by 1st company and so on until all students gets placed.
