Is civil a good branch?

    It is the king branch and it contains the maximum number of government jobs.

    Yes, this is the core branch of engineering. In civil, there are more government jobs than other branches. If you want to take CS and IT, then you will not be able to fill GATE from your branch. You should choose ECE for GATE.
