No. Thapar University gives admissions to almost all branches except BTech in Biotechnology on basis of JEE Mains score. For biotechnology, admission is based on NEET score. Admissions are open now and you can login to their website for needful. -
Good question. Yes — your Class 12 marks matter a lot for Thapar University admissions, especially for its B.Tech programs. Thapar also considers JEE Main scores for many courses, so your board marks can either boost your admission chances or act as a backup if your JEE score isn't very high

No, Class 12 marks are not enough to get into Thapar University since the university mainly admits students on an entrance basis only. Students have to provide national-level entrance exam score to get selected. The university considers JEE Mains, NEET, CUET, etc. in addition to Class 12 marks. You can visit the university's website to know more about the same.

TIET (Thapar Institute) generally has one of the strongest private-university placement records in North India. For BTech, top branches like CSE, COE, ENC see high placement rates, with many students getting multiple offers. Companies like Microsoft, Adobe, Deloitte, and Zscaler hire regularly, and internships are solid too.
If you're comparing private universities, Thapar's placement ecosystem is definitely above average, mainly because of its industry ties and project-driven culture.
