    Christian Medical College is an unaided, Private college Christian minority institute that was established in 1918. Christian Medical College Vellore is approved by MCI, accredited by NABH, and has an attached 2,500 bedded hospital. Some of the courses are accredited by AERB (Atomic Energy Regulatory Board), India and the Microbiology laboratory is an NABL-accredited laboratory. Christian Medical College Vellore is ranked three by NIRF 2023 under the Medical Colleges category.

    CMC, Vellore is a private college that is ranked number three (3) by NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) in the year 2025 under the medical colleges category. This college offers various UG, PG, diploma, & various other courses for students interested in pursuing Nursing, Medicine, Allied Health Sciences, & various other streams.  Christian Medical College, Vellore also offers distance education for UG (undergraduate), PG & other courses.

Patients who have no means of livelihood & who are referred to CMC Vellore by its social workers in CMC's community centres recieve treatment from here.
