Honestly, for any kind of marine course, Coimbatore Marine College is a renowned institute but the recent trend of placements is a bit disappointing, the main goal for admission in this university (placement) is not fulfilled due to the void of basic amenities.

The Coimbatore Marine College (CMC), approved by the Director General of Shipping, Government of India, has been a Premier Marine Institute since 2001. The institute offers promising placement opportunities. Almost 18000 students have been placed so far. The top recruiters are SeaTeam Management, Synergy, Maersk, ASP Ship Management Groups, etc. The maximum package for 2015-2017 pass-outs had reached 3.3 Lacs per annum.
