Is college life at Sastra University good?

Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology, and Research Academy, is one of the popular deemed-to-be universities in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. SASTRA was established in the year of 1984 as Shanmugha College of Engineering and conferred the deemed to be university status on April 26, 2001. NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) has accredited SASTRA Deemed to be a University with an A plus grade and the Institution of Engineers (India) has also accredited all the Bachelor of Technology programs offered by the university. TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) Ltd has accredited SASTRA with an A grade. SASTRA Deemed to be University offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses along with many Doctoral programs across different streams such as Medicine, Education, Arts, Science, Engineering, Law, and Management. SASTRA Deemed to be University offers undergraduate, integrated first degree, postgraduate and doctoral programs across multiple fields including, Commerce, Management, Engineering, Science, Law, and Fine Arts. Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Commerce, 5-Year Integrated Master of Technology, Master of Technology, and Master of Science are the popular courses offered by Shanmugha Technology, Arts, Science, and Research Academy. The undergraduate engineering courses offered by the SASTRA Deemed to be University are of four years. Infrastructure/Facilities: 1- The SASTRA central library contains over 1,02,600 books, the library also subscribes to 290 journals and magazines related to management, engineering, law, Humanities, Laws, and many more. It also subscribes to over 35 online journal databases like science Direct, ASME, IEEE, ACM, and more. The SASTRA library has purchased over 18,000 Springer e-books on various subjects. The transactions of the SASTRA library are fully automated and automation covers the entire gamut of the library. The SASTRA library has reprographic facilities and attracts an average of over 600 candidates over a day. 2- SASTRA University has 9 boys hostels and 6 girls hostels which are equipped with all amenities for living, dining, and recreation that makes each inmate feel at home. Wi-Fi facility is also available for students in the hostel. SASTRA has always believed in catering to the palate and providing wholesome and balanced nutrition in a hygienic environment. A completely balanced South &amp;amp; North Indian Vegetarian diet is served in all hostels. 3- Sports Complex: Badminton Court, Basketball Court, Cricket Ground, Football Ground, Tennis Court, Volleyball Court, Carom, Billiards Table, and Table Tennis. 4- Lab Facilities: Chemistry Lab, Computer Lab, Electrical Lab, Electronics Lab, Physics Lab, Biochemistry Lab, Mitochondria Lab, Revascularization lab, Pre-clinical pharmacology lab, Cell culture Lab, Molecular Biology Lab, Signalling Lab, English Communication Lab, Survey Lab, CAD/ CAM Lab, Digital Lab, VLSI Design Lab, and Simulation Lab. 5- Other Facilities: Bank with ATM, Post office, Guest House, Syndicate Room, Seminar Hall, Central Animal Facility, and Senate Hall. 6- Faculties of Sastra will be too friendly and helpful. Though there will be some strict faculties, you will have much to learn from them. Once you get a good name, try to retain it, and you will become their favorite student and pet after a few days. Syllabi are prescribed by Sastra as it is a deemed university. Syllabus books are given, which will guide you in referring to books with the names of the authors. Placement: According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework report 2023, SASTRA University recorded 88 percent and 81 percent hiring rates for Bachelor of Technology and Bachelor of Legislative Law (BA LLB) (Hons.) candidates during SASTRA University placements in 2022. The median package offered to Master of Technology and Bachelor of Legislative Law (BA LLB) (Hons.) students was INR 5.50 Lakh Per Annum and INR 4.50 Lakh Per Annum during placements in 2022, respectively.
