Comparing the College of Engineering, Anna University, with IITs, most top IITs are considered better in terms of placements, exposure, and overall reputation. Comparing IIT's and Anna University, most of the top IIT's are better than Anna University in terms of placements, exposure and most of the other key elements.IITS are recognised all over the nation which increases your exposure. Although Anna University may be well-known in the state of Tamil Nadu, it is impossible to say the same for the other states, with the possible exception of those that are close by, or for the rest of India.So, if you are getting an IIT in your advanced go for it. They are better than Anna University. I can't say Anna University is as good as an IIT but it's good in it's own way without any comparisions
