Is commerce useless?

To answer your question in a single line, Commerce is not useless and in fact commerce has become inevitable part of human life. That totally depends on the definition of commerce. The dictionary meaning of commerce is the activity of buying and selling/social dealings with people. Most of the students get into commerce stream with no understanding of what it involves. Many students are under the false impression that career moves are to be made after graduation only. The more you postpone this decision, the lesser are the career choices you can make. Usually, there are three types of courses in the commerce segment I. e. , academic courses (like B.Com professional courses (like CS CA etc. ). And vocational courses (like Banking & Finance etc. ). Generally, students tend to rely only on the academic courses with no inclination towards acquiring practical skill sets. But students with practical skills and vocational courses are given more preference by recruiters. So, it makes much more sense for students to pursue a B.Com degree along with CS and Banking & Finance course. I will suggest you to do B.Com-MBA for better career opportunity. The number of institutes offering the B.Com course is overwhelming. However, not all of them can boast about quality.
