Is Computer Science Engineering difficult as compared to other engineering fields?

Computer Science is not difficult if you have analytical thinking skills. However, to get good grades in relative grading system in CS is most challenging because CS class is composed of best students of any batch as only toppers of Engineering Entrance Examinations are able to get admission in CS branch.

<p><strong>No,</strong> <strong>computer science engineering is not as difficult as compared to other engineering fields.</strong> More or less computer science engineering is almost same to the other engineering fields because of the <strong>overlapping syllabus of CSE with IT branch and software engineering branch and some of the subjects in CSE also overlaps with electronics communication engineering and electrical engineering. </strong></p><p>In India, for the first year, the syllabus of engineering is almost the same for every branch there can only be a difference in labs of core subjects. <a href="https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/computer-science-engineering-chp">Computer Science and Engineering</a> (CSE) is an academic programme at some universities that combines aspects of both computer science and computer engineering programmes. Computer science programmes typically centers primarily around theory and software, with only some hardware, upper division courses tend to allow a lot of freedom to specialise in software and theory related areas (e.g. algorithms, artificial intelligence, cryptography/security, graphics/visualization, numerical and symbolic computing, operating systems/distributed processing, software engineering).</p><p><strong>And one more thing I need to tell you that it all depends on you whether you like CSE or not then any other engineering field because of this it all that makes difference. </strong></p><p><strong>Ex:</strong> if you like mechanical engineering and are interested in making cars but you ended up with electronics engineering then making circuits will not make you happy or comfortable in the branch. But if you are looking according to the syllabus of CSE, I will say that CSE is much easier than any other engineering fields. Hope it helps.</p>

All branches are more or less similar, difficulty depends upon your approach to studies. ECE is next best alternative for CS else IT can be named as a substitute for CS. CSE is really good subject and many feel it easy than ECE. As this is a branch of engineering and closely associated with hardware, you will have to learn some hardware subjects as mentioned above. I saw my friends from CSE cursing university for introducing those subjects and arguing with me on benefits.This is because of making you know, how a hardware is designed and basics as you will develop software. CSE is not just software job as in India it is more than that, cognitive sciences, neural networks. But, here we dream of IT job that's not correct. If you are so passionate about neural networks and cognitive science, do not stop with a job. Go abroad and do research. This suits for most of the students due to less mathematics involved. Overall CS holds great scope in future with artificial intelligence and machine learning set to dominate the world with job opportunities and business.
