Is CU a good option for mechanical stream?

Dear Ahish, CU is doing well considering its limited capabilities. LPU has the largest number of Ph.D. and Post Doctorate faculty in the country. Many of them are from IITs/ Iims/IVY league and other top universities all over the world. Many of the faculty in Mechanical department like Dr Chander Prakash are top researchers in their field with numerous collaborations all over the world in research community. This highly qualified teaching fraternity at LPU ensures that students : 1 : Effectively build and communicate the solutions using learning from basic mechanical engineering, basic sciences, mathematics and computational skills and tools. 2 : Ability to design using Design of Machine Elements theories and to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technology. 3 : Capability of building efficient energy conversion systems using basic understanding of Thermodynamics, Heat transfer and Fluid Mechanics. 4 : Demonstrate the ability to propose cost effective optimized solutions using simulated environment of Computer aided design, computer aided manufacturing and computer aided engineering. From Trident which offered 15 LPA to Emeryll to Forbes Marshall which offered 6 lacs of package, students get a whole lot of placement opportunities depending upon their domains and CGPA as well as their interests. I don't have idea about Chandigarh University, I can say about Lovely Professional University as My cousin brother is pursuing B.Tech Mechanical from LPU, reviews are pretty good, He is learning. He told me that the engineering stream at LPU itself has received an overall good rating from students and alumni. The School of Mechanical Engineering offers well engineered seamless courses for students at many different levels such as undergraduate, Diploma/certificate, post-graduate and research based Ph.D. level courses, not only for Mechanical Engineering, but also for Automobile, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics and Mechatronics as well. He also said, Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials Science principles to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery. Mechanical engineering deals with the working and functioning of electrical equipment's, heavy machines, different materiel to make human life easy and motor vehicles which has a large scope in the future markets. A large scale field work is required and mechanical students keep developing themselves working in their respective workshops and their live projects. Many people have their views that LPU students study less but to complete the statement, I would say that the students work hard. The most prominent and wide tech fest for mechanical students is GO Kart race that took place in LPU for consecutive years and LPU is bagging the top position in the race. A Mechanical Engineering student goes through an experiential learning process surrounded by high-end the latest labs and equipment including robotics and automation. International tech-fests and competitions encourage all-round development in our students in addition to giving them international exposure. School of Mechanical Engineering organized an International Conference on Recent Advances in Mechanical Engineering (ICRAME), in which experts from leading brands like Maruti Suzuki, Biomimicry India were present. There are more than 100 companies that are coming in LPU for recruitment of mechanical students. The packages varies from 3 Lacs to 12 Lacs per annum. On an average, the packages are 5 Lacs in a very core company which gradually sees a couple of rapid promotions based on your handwork.

He told me, Mechanical Engineering student goes through an experiential learning process surrounded by high-end the latest labs and equipment including robotics and automation. University organized International Go kart Championship which is a student initiated automotive event the first international event of its kind receiving participation from all over ASIA. The Mechanical Department has highly experienced and qualified staff pursuing their research in thrust areas such as CAD/CAM, Mechanical design, Thermal engineering, Fluid dynamics, Manufacturing Engineering, Tool design and Flexible Manufacturing Systems/Automation. Being alumnus of LPU, I would like to answer this question. LPU is the better choice to pursue your engineering. LPU does provide B.Tech in Mechanical. Yes, without any doubt, Chandigarh University is definitely the best place to study Mechanical Engineering. The number of placements and patents filed is one the highest in North India. The management of the University has always focused on providing the best resources to the students and the same goes for the teaching staff as well. Dear Ashish, Chandigarh University is a better option for mechanical engineering. More than 115 companies selected 530 students from Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics & Automobile Engineering branches offering pay packages up to 9 LPA.
