Dear Ahish, CU is doing well considering its limited capabilities. LPU has the largest number of Ph.D. and Post Doctorate faculty in the country. Many of them are from IITs/ Iims/IVY league and other top universities all over the world. Many of the faculty in Mechanical department like Dr Chander Prakash are top researchers in their field with numerous collaborations all over the world in research community. I have been in LPU so I can vouch on their practices that they are implementing and I have witnessed their effort for students and management working hard for placement and imparting quality teaching. I don't have idea about Chandigarh University, I can say about Lovely Professional University as My cousin brother is pursuing B.Tech Mechanical from LPU, reviews are pretty good, He is learning. He told me that the engineering stream at LPU itself has received an overall good rating from students and alumni. The School of Mechanical Engineering offers well engineered seamless courses for students at many different levels such as undergraduate, Diploma/certificate, post-graduate and research based Ph.D. level courses, not only for Mechanical Engineering, but also for Automobile, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics and Mechatronics as well.

There are more than 100 companies that are coming in LPU for recruitment of mechanical students. The packages varies from 3 Lacs to 12 Lacs per annum. On an average, the packages are 5 Lacs in a very core company which gradually sees a couple of rapid promotions based on your handwork.

Being alumnus of LPU, I would like to answer this question. LPU is the better choice to pursue your engineering. LPU does provide B.Tech in Mechanical. LPU is a better option, in terms of placements, best curriculum, infrastructure, well-experienced faculty, and provides hands-on experience on the latest technologies. Yes, without any doubt, Chandigarh University is definitely the best place to study Mechanical Engineering. The number of placements and patents filed is one the highest in North India.
The management of the University has always focused on providing the best resources to the students and the same goes for the teaching staff as well. Their prime focus has been to provide both technical and practical knowledge to the students.
