Yes according to the Right to Education (RTE) Act & NCTE guidelines D.El.Ed or B.Ed is mandatory for teaching in government and private schools.
- For Primary School Teachers which includes teaching Classes 1–5: D.El.Ed or BTC is required.
- For Upper Primary Teachers which includes teaching Classes 6–8:
