Is DDE recognition necessary for Assam down town university distance education degrees to be recognized?

I have joined for Integrated MBA offered by Assam down town univeristy, but they do not have DDE recognition, only UGC recognition. Is DDE recognition necessary for degrees to be recognised? Is there any point in getting a degree from ADTU
