Digital marketing is an umbrella term for the marketing of products or services using digital technologies, mainly on the internet, but also including mobile phones, display advertising, and any other digital medium. Digital marketing differs from traditional marketing in that it involves the use of channels and methods that enable an organisation to analyse marketing campaigns and understand what is working and what is not in real time. Digital marketers monitor things like what is being viewed, how often and for how long, sales conversions, what content works and does not work, etc. While the internet is, perhaps, the channel most closely associated with digital marketing, others include wireless text messaging, mobile instant messaging, mobile apps, podcasts, electronic billboards, digital television, radio channels, etc. It is an excellent career choice with good salaries.
Digital journalism also known as online journalism is a contemporary form of journalism where editorial content is distributed via the internet as opposed to publishing via print or broadcast. What constitutes 'digital journalism' is debated by scholars. However, the primary product of journalism, which is news and features on current affairs, is presented solely or in combination as text, audio, video and some interactive forms, and disseminated through digital media platforms.
