No, Diploma in teaching is not equivalent to B.Ed. degree.

Both are different. B. Ed is a Bachelor's degree course in education. After getting a degree, you will eligible for B.Ed but Diploma can be after the intermediate also. In the teaching field, either government or private college, they all require a B.Ed degree to teach and salary packages are also decided based on that.
After B.Ed, you will get the chance to take TET - teacher Eligibility Exam and DSC exams which is given by the government.
They can teach up to class 10th.
