University Grant Commission accepts distance education as well as regular education but the condition is that the institution/college and the course must be dually accredited and approved by the University Grant Commission. For University Grant Commission-National Eligibility Test, the minimum qualification required to apply is a postgraduate degree. For more details, you may visit the Shiksha UGC NET (University Grant Commission-National Eligibility Test) exam page. (https://www.shiksha.com/exams/ugc-net-exam). I hope this will help you.

As long as the institution and the course is dually accredited and approved by the UGC (University Grant Commission) you are eligible for the UGC NET.
