The first question that every college is going to ask, why do you want to do MBA? Why not some other course? You should say that it is the only way to go for Ph.D or further study. Otherwise, students give answers like to get the dream job they are doing MBA that is true only sometimes. Also, until unless you are not into adapting things, you are not going to get the full benefits of MBA because MBA teaches you about the organizational structure and how each and everything works and how you are supposed to behave in an organisation. If you can adapt to these things then yes it's beneficial for an average student.

MBA is such a course where you need to be wholly devoted in building your personality for the industry. Having a bad past academic background won't bother/hamper you that much. How do we decide who is a below average student or who is excellent? Some people are good with numbers but struggle with languages. Some are the exact opposite. Some are good with both but are not confident enough to perform in the exam. 80% of the students who have cleared CAT and took admission to one of the IIMs are average students only. MBA course structure is bit hectic and students with zeal and vigor excel. MBA provides great networking opportunities. I would like to tell from whatever I have experienced being an average student-
1) Confidence: MBA definitely boosts your confidence in terms of everything. I had never given a speech in front of 100 odd people before. But after coming to MBA you have to give number of presentations, group discussions and lot of things that will build your confidence and also develop your personality.
