Is Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee International Institute of Information Technology Tier 1 or Tier 2?

<p>Thus, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-Naya Raipur) can be referred to as having a Tier 2 status among engineering colleges in India. A Tier 1 institution usually comprises of some of the old IITs such as IIT, Bombay, IIT, New Delhi while the Tier 2 institutions acknowledge the fact of being good in terms of standard infrastructure and placement but they are not so well recognised nationally or globally as the Tier 1 institutions.</p><p>IIIT-NR is on an expansion spree and has been depicting gradual enhancement in certain areas including faculty, research and placement etc. It is recognised as a genuine institution of learning when it comes to engineering, especially noted for its adequate facilities and the relatively newfound reputation of courses such as CSE and DSAI.</p><p>To be more specific, calssification based on ranks of NIRF or other private ranking agencies or based on strengths of individual programmes and placement records, students and parents use percentile, median, mean etc. values for classification.</p>
