DSU is a state university, established in 2014 under the Act of the Karnataka State. Since the very beginning, the university is offering quality higher education to the students and offering them good placements. The university has been awarded and ranked many times for its excellent performance in the industry. Some of the latest rankings and awards are 10th in the National Category, and 4th in State and South Zone by IIRF-2022 and has also been rated A+ category in the B-School Survey 2021 by Siliconindia.

Dayanand Sagar University is recognised by the UGC and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Also, the university has been ranked 3 in the State zone and South zone (2021) by IIRF. Additionally, it has been ranked 4 by Karnataka Rating Framework (KSURF). It is having accreditation by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with grade 'A'.
