Delhi Technical University (formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering) has been established under the Government of Delhi in 1963. It is a state university and was affiliated with the University of Delhi from 1952 to 2009. In 2009, the college was given the status of 'University', thus changing its name to Delhi Technological University. DTU is counted amongst the oldest Engineering colleges in India. Being a government college, the fee for various courses is not very high.

DTU is deemed university that works under government sector.
But, from 2016 new policies were applied and the total annual fees increased from Rs.99,000 to 1,26,000.
Also, fees will increase by 10% every subsequent year.
