The undergraduate admission in DU for most colleges takes place on the merit basis excepting a few such as Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies. If you're looking for Post Graduate admissions, there are two criteria. In case you have scored above 60% in your semester exam you'll automatically GET admission without having to appear for the entrance exam. If below that then you nee to appear for the entrance, and you're only eligible to sit for the entrance exam only when you've scored a minimum of 50% in your semester.

There is no exam, first of all.
Different colleges have different cutoff lists according to your 12th percentage.
So, the better your percentage is, the better college and course you get.

12th class score is very important as the admission is based on the cut-off which is set by DU faculty.

DU and its colleges require 12th score to give admissions.
Admissions are only based on the cut-off marks. If you have the required cut-off for DU admissions, then only you will get admission in DU.
