Is Engineering still in demand after 12th?

It seems from past couple of years students inclination towards engineering has reduced.

I don't think so. Because now a days people want to do something new but not to go on like sheep into engineering. Many other courses are emerging at present. Defiantly it is. It is up to you, how you pursue Engineering. Try to do engineering like no one else did it before. Always think two things: You are the best & No pain-No gain.
