The Footwear Design & Development Institute was founded in 1986 by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India. It has also been declared as the Institution of National Importance under the FDDI Act 2017. As for the placement record, 83% of students are placed each year. Top recruiters include Titan, Tommy Hilfiger, Aditya Birla Group, and Zara. The highest salary package offered is between INR 50 and INR 60 LPA.
