Is game design in LPU good? What is the qualification for the course?

Dear Ritika, Yes, LPU is good for game design. You should have a minimum of 12th class to get admission to this programme. A Bachelor in Game Design can help you step into the world of games with adequate knowledge about how games are created, along with substantial practical experience. At LPU in this course, you will learn theory as well as practical aspects of designing different types of games. Many of my friends passed out from LPU from the same course and getting handsome salaries now. I want to highlight the specialisation which LPU offered in this course : Animation Game Art VFX Art Game Design Discipline minors are also floated which are: 1.3D visualisation 2. Conceptual Design 3. Effects and simulation 4. Gaming 5. LPU is one of the best places in India for Multimedia, Graphics, and Gaming. The curriculum emphasis on sound theoretical grounding in principles and process of game art and design with extensive practical works, it enable proficiency in students to handle and deliver industry standard projects/output. The faculty members are from the industry like red chilies Studios, Prime focus studios and they have experience of more than 15 years. LPU offers two varieties of courses under gaming section:- (1) B.Sc. Design which is for 3 years where the eligibility is: Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST or UCEED. (2) B. Design which is for 4 years, where the eligibility is: Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST or UCEED. The multimedia department has a separate block and has well-equipped labs with dell workstations to handle high-end software like adobe after effects, Unity Maya, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, Nuke, Fusion, Z brush, photoshop, etc. Even the department has good quality of resources like Black magic cinemas cameras, canon cameras, trolly, jib, and well-equipped special VFX studio with permanent Chroma backgrounds. Placements are also great. This year also his friends and juniors got placed in companies like Amazon, rockstar games, Kony India, Xentrix studios, Lolly POP Design Studio etc. With average packages of 5 Lacs per annum and maximum packages are 8 to 10 Lacs. Gaming started in 2017. Department has a separate Gaming studio also where students can play and test the games on Ps4 and xbox 360+department focus from Game design to execution with complete production pipeline its 95 percent practical based course with hands-on experience with software like unity, Maya, Substance painter, brush etc. And live projects too.

Hello Ritika, My Cousin's brother completed his B. Design degree from Lovely Professional University. He is placed in Rockstar games now as Lead Facial Animator. He worked in Red Dead redemption 2 and now working in GTAVI. As his feedback, I would like to recommend that LPU is one of the best places in India for Multimedia, Graphics, and Gaming. The faculty members are from the industry like red chilies Studios, Prime focus studios and they have experience of more than 15 years. The multimedia department has a separate block and has well-equipped labs with dell workstations to handle high-end software like adobe after effects, Unity Maya, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, Nuke, Fusion, Z brush, photoshop, etc. Even the department has good quality of resources like Black magic cinemas cameras, canon cameras, trolly, jib, and well-equipped special VFX studio with permanent Chroma backgrounds. Placements are also great.
