Is gap between engineering and MBA of 1 year a concern? Can I work in a customer care being a mechanical engineer?

I have passed mechanical engineering in 2017 and will apply for MBA in 2018.

It isn't a major problem as far as your gap is concerned but at the time of job interview, if the HR asks you the question for a gap, you should be ready with a valid answer which should be logical and honest. In my career, I have seen a chartered accountant professional working in the sales department of a private bank. So, you working as a CCR being an engineer should not be an issue but yes what you do you should enjoy doing.
