Is GATE necessary to get admission in M.Tech?

Hi,
It would be always advisable to opt for M.Tech after clearing GATE exam as it opens more doors of esteemed universities such as IITs, NITs, IIITs etc.
Other than M.Tech, there are many institute specific entrances in order to pursue M.Tech.

No it is not. There are many universities that conduct their own test and their are other universities also. depends on what your interest is.
