GATE is not required for all M.Tech admissions at IIIT Hyderabad. Admission to most M.Tech programs at IIIT Hyderabad is based on the institute's own entrance exam, Postgraduate Entrance Examination .This exam focuses on assessing knowledge and skills relevant to the chosen M.Tech specialization.

Candidates seeking admission to M.Tech in Product Design and Management (PDM) are required to have a valid score in GATE/ CEED/ PGEE exam.
