Is getting part-time jobs easy while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology?

<p>The opportunities of getting a part-time job while studying at MIT can be large.&nbsp;</p><p>There are a lot of on-campus employment opportunities available including research positions, teaching assistant roles, and administrative jobs. The Student Employment Office is a great resource for finding these positions. Most of the students work during the academic year, earning an estimated $1,700 a term for 6&ndash;8 hours of work a week. The minimum wage is $15 an hour.</p><p>There are numerous opportunities off-campus in the Cambridge and Greater Boston area in tech startups, research labs, and other industries related to their field of study. Many job opportunities come through networking with professors, informal mentorships, and class projects.&nbsp;</p><p>However note, in addition to the 20-hour work limit, international graduate students are not eligible to work at all during any semester if they are fully funded.</p><p>Overall, the vibrant local job market makes finding part-time employment relatively straightforward for MIT students.</p>
