Is going to ESE/IES a better option than a PSU job considering the pay grade?

Comparing IES and PSU Jobs Both exams are for recruiting engineers in the government sector. There are no major similarities but a comparison can be drawn between both jobs based on the recruiting companies, salary, benefits, scope, and level of competition. Salary Structure The salary varies from company to company and it's based on the post you are applying for. In the case of ESE officers, the various scales are junior scale, Senior Scale, Junior Administrative Grade, Selection Grade, Supertime Grade, Apex, etc. While for PSU there are 4 categories namely Maharatna, Navaratna, Miniratna Category A, and Category B. ESE Perks: ESE payment is done under the Pay Commission of India and hence there is a significant yearly hike. The job security is immense and all your hard work to crack the exam will be paid off. Dedicated chauffeurs, Residential quarters, bungalows, and servants are allotted to you as soon as you join the service. Travel, leave allowance and CGHS medical facility are a few of the things that you can enjoy additionally besides your position. You will be a gazette officer and enjoy a position of power and respect that in society as government. Officer posts in EES, IAS and similar services are considered among the elites in the society. PSU Perks: The work schedule is less hectic and there are more holidays compared to ESE but it is still one of the elite government jobs. The promotion is much faster in PSUs and depends on your hard work and performance. The PSU pay scale is much higher than the Central government and there is a major scope for increasing your salary as you grow in the company. The additional benefits are similar to ESE like HRA, easy loans, transport subsidies, shift allowance, etc. However, these perks vary from one company to company.

If are considering solely pay grade then, PSUs offer better salary packages. Mospes use offers basic pay of INR 60000. They also provides perks and allowances along with it. Why do people leave PSUs use for IES. Most people who leave PSU for IES. Because somewhere it is a job have same rank as other Central Civil services.
