One of the oldest Universities in North-East India, Gauhati University (GU) was established in the year 1948. Guwahati University has been ranked 36 by the NIRF in 2022. Talking about the placements, according to the NIRF report 2023, a total of 569 out of 2,386 UG and PG students were placed during Guwahati University placements 2022. The median package offered to UG (3-year) and PG (1-year) students was INR 3.50 LPA and INR 4.80 LPA during placements 2022. Hence, it is safe to conclude that Guwahati University is a good university.
