Yes, just go for JEE Main and Advanced. Prepare for it, as good as you can, then if you get any good IIT, then just make your academics good in mark sheet. Further, if you want to do PG course, then I will suggest you to pursue it from mechanical only. Go for GATE exam.
In government sector, mechanical engineering has lots of scope as well as vacancy. For example, ISRO and DRDO are the main big government organization, who post the ad for mechanical engineer vacancy every year. -
Mechanical engineering students are more in number than mechanical engineering jobs available now. But if you are smart enough then you will possibly get ahead of others in the competition and get a good job.
